International conference organized to celebrate 20th Anniversary of The Poleski National Park. It is addressed to stakeholders, researchers, decision makers of different levels, and all people interested in protection and conservation of hydrogenic landscapes in Europe, understanding their current status and threats.

The aims and main themes of the conference:

  • assessment of the pace and scale of transformations and analysis of the current status of the hydrogenic landscapes in European Biosphere Reserves;
  • a review of the methods of active protection of ecosystems and hydrogenic landscapes and assessment of methods' effectiveness;
  • a review of the forms and methods of co-operation of environmental protection services with local societies towards the protection and management of landscape values
  • a summary of the achievement over 20-years of the Poleski National Park in the protection of ecosystems and hydrogenic landscapes of West Polesie;
  • establishing of an international reserach platform of the most valuable European, hydrogenic landscapes;
  • promotion of best practices in protection of ecosystems and hydrogenic landscapes and successful management of their resources.
