INTERACT is an infrastructure project under the auspices of SCANNET, a circumarctic network of 33 terrestrial field bases in northern Europe, Russia, US, Canada, Greenland, Iceland, the Faroe Islands and Scotland. INTERACT specifically seeks to build capacity for research and monitoring in the European Arctic and beyond, and is offering access to numerous research stations through the Transnational Access program.
Transnational Access includes:
* Free access for user groups/users to research facilities and field sites, including support for travel and logistic costs
* Free access to information and data in the public domain held at the infrastructures
Transnational Access is available to user groups, where the group leader and majority of group members work in an institution established in a EU Member State or Associated State. The maximum amount of access is 90 person-days per user group.
The deadline of the call is 31st October, 2012. The on-line application system closes on the date at midnight Brussels time (UTC/GMT +1 hour). Note the time zone!
The twenty sites offering TA in INTERACT represent a variety of glacier, mountain, tundra, boreal forest, peatland and freshwater ecosystems, providing opportunities for researchers from natural sciences to human dimension.
A large variety of research fields and topics are suitable for TA. The list is not exclusive, and topics can be extended well beyond the listing presented here! The maximum amount of access that can be granted to user group is 90 days (3 months), including previous INTERACT TA visits.
The selected user groups will be informed about the TA decisions by mid-January, 2013.
