LTER-Austria
The development of long-term ecological research in Austria started with a nationwide review of projects and facilities dedicated to ecosystem research by the Austrian Network for Environmental Research. This review resulted in the foundation of the Austrian Society for Long-term Ecological Research (LTER-Austria) in 2002.
LTER-Austria is a network of several research institutions and LTER infrastructure. The members are meeting on an annual basis to discuss LT(S)ER science strategies and the future of the network and LTER research in Austria, respectively.
LTER Austria is formal member of the ILTER Network and the regional LTER-Europe Network since 2004.
