The summit will:
- Derive a common understanding of what natural capital really means
- Understand in plain language the natural and social science behind it
- Find and demonstrate ways in which sectors and initiatives can work, and are working, together to apply it
- Identify ways of ensuring that practical responses have scientific rigour
- Communicate recommendations for ways forward across the sectors.
This summit is for:
Academics – wanting to maximise the impact of their research in this area, and to identify new research priorities
Policy makers – wanting to develop policies that enable better accounting for our natural capital in government and business activity
Business – particularly businesses whose risks and products are particularly dependent on natural resources and systems
Civil Society – for charities that work to protect natural resources and promote better care for our natural environment
Event organised by the Natural Capital Initiative, whose partners include CEH and JHI (also UKECN partners). For event details, see the link below.
